Episode 22 - The Funeral Of Palmer Cortlandt

At The Pine Valley Church, Opal,Tad,Petey,Jenny,and Kathy greet everyone who has come for the memorial service of Palmet Courtlandt to celebrate his life. Ross,Cliff,Nina, Bobby, & Julie are the first to arrive.

Jack,Erica,Jesse,Angie,Frankie,Randi,Brot,Natalia,Ryan,Greenlee,Emma,Phillp,Cecily,Nick,Phillip II,Adrian,Haley,Mateo,Krystal,Daisy,etc. come in one by one hugging Opal.

Kendall Hart Slater arrives as Erica see's here,the two hug. "Kendell!Hello sweet heart. It's so good seeing you again. Are you here just for Palmer's funeral?" - Erica. "Yeah. Zach and the boys couldn't be here but they told me to say hi to you. Are you with Jackson?" - Kendall. "Yes I am. Me and him are taking things slowly but were on the right track" - Erica. "I hope things are good between the two of you" - Kendall. "Don't worry,me and Jack are committed to make things work" - Erica. "That's good to hear mom. We better get our seats beause the funeral is about to start" - Kendall. The find their seats. Ross Chandler gets up on the podium as the funeral begins,deliverying the eulogy.

"Hello everyone and welcome to the funeral of my father,Palmer Cortlandt.Today we look back and remember one of the most funny,determined and strong people of Pine Valley. For me,I was an unwated child growing up poor in Pigeon’s Hallow, I believed my uncles and mother to be my siblings. That was untill I learned that my biological father Pete Cooney, lived in Pine Valley. Only now, he was known as business mogul Palmer Cortlandt. For me,I looked to make things up and we did. We may have had our differences but in the end,we loved each other like family. My father was a tough fighter in the bussiness. I can say now that he is smiling down on us to this day forward " - Ross. He steps down the podium and goes back to his seat.

Daisy comes up and speaks. "Me and PC were a very much a happy couple, even if there were no plans to marry. We reunited after problems were going on in our lives that included Cliff and Nina but we moved on. Palmer professed his love, and we remarried. I loved him and he loved me. He treated me like a classy lady and that's what I won't forget about PC.May he rest in piece" - Daisy. She goes back to her seat as Nina and Cliff walk over to the podium as Nina begins to speak.

"I was my father's daughter; not that she had much of a choice after my mother died in child-birth. For as long as she could remember, she suffered from many ailments, most notably diabetes.The pressure of mt recent move to Pine Valley made her ignore her health. At a party thrown in honor of the Cortlandts at the Tyler Estate, I fainted as a result of appendicitis.When Nina awoke, she saw the face of a handsome doctor, Cliff Warner" - Nina. "I was was Pine Valley Hospital's youngest and brightest surgeon.I never anticipated falling in love at work, but that all changed when I met Nina Cortlandt,but her father,Palmer Courtlandt was out there determined to ruin my reputation" - Cliff. "My father never approved of Cliff but as the years gone by,when we visted him he opened up to Cliff and welcomed him to the family. Palmer Courtlandt and Cliff got along well. We'll miss him and he won't be forgotten" - Nina. The two then walk over to their seats and sit down.

Petey walks up to the podium and speaks. "I grew up and lived the life of priveledge and luxury had a rocky start. I had a a pretty normal life... or as normal as life could be in Pine Valley. My dad Palmer gave me a new oppurtunity to be in the bussiness of companies and enterprieses. I learned his every move and I thank him for being there for me when it mattered. I love you dad" - Petey. He walks over to his seat next to Colby and sits down as Bobby Warner walks to the podium to speak.

"In 1995,my mom and dad sent me Bobby to move in with my Palmer because he was causing trouble in Denver.When I was there,I still caused trouble and it was hard for me but my grandfather stood by my side,no matter what decision I made or the action I caused. He loved me like a son. I'll truly miss him" - Bobby. He walks down the podium and sits down in his seat. Tad Martin walks up the podium and speaks.

"Like what happend to Nina and Cliff,I was with Dixie at the time,me and her were in love. But as I was married to Dixie back then,it wasn't going to work as long as Palmer had influence over Dixie. He made plans for us to move away from Pine Valley. But, Dixie was not ready to be separated from her family. Me and Palmer never liked each other but started to reconcile and be more like friends. I'll miss Palmer for his sense of humor and love for my mother" - Tad. As Tad goes over to his seat to sit down,Adam Chandler walks up to podium to speak.

"I multi-millionaire Adam Chandler came from very humble beginnings. Growing up impoverished in Pigeon's Hallow, West Virginia, I was determined to provide a better life for himself and my family. I moved into Pine Valley right before the beginning of the New Year, ready to make my mark on the small town. But in order to move forward, I needed to deal with the shadows in my past. Namely, Palmer Cortlandt, a man he knew as back woods golden boy, Pete Cooney. Me and him fueded and knowing him, the old coot wouldn't want me at his funeral" - Adam. The people laugh. "But im gonna miss him and the war of words we used to spare out. Goodybe Cooney,i'll miss you untill the day comes when we fued again in heaven" - Adam. He walks away from the podium to his seat and sits down. Finaly,Opal comes to podium,wiping her tears away as she begins to speak.

"This is hard for me,so i'll try my best to get this through. Wild and eccentric I have seen a lot in her life, but when I saw Palmer, I sent my sites on him. He transformed me into a beautiful lady. Even though we had issues,we would always come back towards each other. And now that he's gone,there will never be another Palmer Courtland in Pine Valley. I love him so much!Oh Palmer I miss you so much,oh god!" - Opal. She breaks down in tears as Tad,Petey,Ross,and Adrian comfort her. As Tad,Petey and Adrian help Opal to her seat,Ross comes to the podium.

"I would like to thank everyone who came to my father's passing. At The Courtland Palor,we'll be continuing to celebrate my father with great food,drinks and more enjoyment.Thank You!" - Ross. Everyone starts to leave but Opal stays behind. "Ma ma,are you comming?" - Tad. "Im comming,but i'll be fine. Tad nods his head as he leaves. Opal walks over to Palmer's casket. "I love you Palmer, so much,you gave me a great life and I own it to you. Goodbye dear friend" - Opal. She kisses the casket and blows a kiss to Palmer's portrait of him. She leaves to the church to join up with the others.

Episode 14 - The Wait Is Over : The Wedding Begins Part. 3

In the dining stage room,everyone gets seated and settled as Adrian and Opal reunite,hug and talk.Joe and Ruth walk over to the wedding cake, a iced alternating tiers of carrot cake and chocolate-caramel, brown and white, classic sqaure cake. Joe and Ruth grab the knife and cuts the piece of the wedding cake as everyone claps and appluads. The two share and eat the cake together,filrting and kissing. "Wow,isn't this so cute Jake?" - Amanda. "It is.I wonder if we can have a long and happy marriage " - Jake. "For ourselves?Yes we can,but we have a long way to go" - Amanda. Jamanda kiss. Joe and Ruth continue to eat their cake and everyone eats their food. Tad gets up on the stage and grabs a mic as he begins to speak and everyone is silent.

"Everybody,I wanna thank you all that who came to celebrate my parents renewing of their wedding vows and I want to have a toast.Everybody get out your cups of wine and drinks. A toast to Ruth and Joe,may their love lasts forever. Salute!" - Tad. "SALUTE!!!!" - Everyone. They raise their glasses to Joe and Ruth as they drink,including the other two. "And now that we have done that,let's get everybody onto the dance floor" - Tad. Everybody gets up out of their seats and joins the dance floor waiting to see who will sing. "Everyone,please welcome one of our guests singers for tonight....Brian McKnight!" - Tad. The crowd gives out a thuderous applause as Brian walks out onto the stage and shakes Tad's hand and grabs the mic. "Thank you,I wanna sing this song,"Used To Be My Girl",and it's dedicated to the both of you Joe and Ruth" - Brian.

The song plays as Brian begins to sing. "Yeah, I feel sexy right there ,Yeah, feel it all this way
B. McKnight, we're Tim and Bob ,This is not another love song....See, I know what you're thinkin', you're feelin' like a lucky guy...." - Brian. As Brian sings,people dance. "Hey Kelsey,would you like to dance with me?" - Scott. "Yes I would Scott,let's do this" - Kelsey. She and Scott dance to the music as everyone is having a good time. Brian finishes singing,everyone is clapping. Tad gets on the stage and shakes Biran's hand and grabs the mic. "Thank you Brian,our next guests are here with us....please welcome Fat Joe and Mariah Carey!" - Tad. Mariah and Fat Joe walk on the stage shaking Tad's hand. "WHAT'S UP PINE VALLEY!!?" - Fat Joe. The crowd goes crazy as Fat Joe continues to speak. "It comes to that point where I need everybody to report to the dance floor!" - Fat Joe.

The two sing "It's Like That" as everybody continues to dance and enjoy the night. As Pete and Colbyu are dancing, Pete's phone rings. "Hey Colby,I need to take this,wait here for me" - Pete. "Sure Petey,don't take too long" - Colby. The two kiss as Pete leaves to take the call. "Hello?" - Pete. "Pete is this you?" - Voice. "Ross?Yeah,this is me,what's up?" - Pete, "I got bad news,brace yourself" - Ross Chandler. As Ross tells Petey the news,Petey is in shock and can't belive what he's saying. "Are you sure Ross?" - Pete. "Yes I am sure. Im sorry Pete" - Ross. Pete turns off the phone. "I can't believe this is happening" - Pete."I need to tell Mom" - Pete. Pete see's his mom and runs to her.

"MOM,MOM!!!I NEED TO TELL YOU THIS!" - Pete. "Pete,what's going on?Are you alright? - Opal. "Look mom,I got a call from Ross and you may not want to hear this but..." - Pete. He wispers into Opal's ear as Opal is shocked,and breaks down in tears. Everyone,including the music stops alooks at Opal as Tad comes to comfrot her mother. "Ma ma,what's wrong?" - Tad. "It's Palmer....he's gone!" - Opal. Everyone gasps as they all can't believe it. Tad comforts her mother

Episode 14 - The Wait Is Over : The Wedding Begins Part. 2

In The Colonade Room , the music for the wedding is on as the guests stand up. Jenny walks down the aisle as the flower girl,spreading them around and on the ground. After that,she sits down with JR,AJ, and Marissa. Then the bride,Ruth Martin comes down the aisle,wearing the same dress since she married Joe in 1972. Everyone looks in in awe as Joe smiles. As Ruth reaches the altar,Joe grabs her hand and wispers to her. "You look beautiful Ruth" - Joe. "Thank You Joe" - Ruth. The two face Father Clarence as the wedding music stops and Father Clarence begins to speak.

"Dealy beloved,to all family and friends.We are gathered here today to join Joe and Ruth Martin in holy matrimony. For over the years these two have helped to build and keep their  family together. Ruth and Joe became the wise sages to all the young lovers, new parents, and anyone with a problem. Ruth and Joe have been the one constant in PV. Their lives have revolved around "all their children" and grandchildren. When everyone needed advice, the two have become the solid rock upon which everyone in Pine Valley has turned to at one time or another for sound advice and family love. The challenges these two faced were not easy,but in the end,they have become united as one and has overcomed them. Today, we are all fortunate to share in their joy as they renew their vows in matrimony. Let's hear the groom first" - Father Clarence

Joe gets out his vows as he begins to read and look at Ruth. "Ruth,when I came to Pine Valley, I thought that I lost everything when Helen died. When I worked at The Pine Valley Hospital, I immediately became a fixture of the community. My charismatic charm was especially impressive to you Ruth. And even though when I knew you were married, I kept my distance,but I had feelings for you. But, could not deny my feelings for you. I wondered if it was possible for true love to strike twice in one lifetime, and it did. With that, im lucky,proud and grateful to be with you. Now that were today,our love is stronger than ever" - Joe.

"Now we will hear from the bride" - Father Clarence. Ruth gets out her vows as she reads it and looks at Joe. "Joe, as a loving nurse, I had problems,I went to you for help. I had feelings for the charismatic doctor that you are, but I felt I couldn't leave others that I cared for. When Ted and Phil died,you gave me comfort. When we married,life didn't give us the easy path. We faced affairs,and secrets that we should of been honest with each other. Back then you could no longer trust me, and I couldn't trust you. But then we reconciled and promised to make our marriage work. Back then and now,we are here for each other,this is forever,I love you Joe and no one else. We will love each other untill the day one of us die" - Ruth.

"May we have the rings please" - Father Clarence. Paul gives one to Joe as Amy gives one to Ruth. Joe puts the ring on Ruth as he speaks. "This is a sign of love,trust and commitment. We may not agree on everything, but in the end,we are here for each other as always. There's no one else more beautiful than you are." - Joe. Ruth puts the ring on Joe as she speaks. "This is also a sign,of love,trust,and commitment. There is no one that has ever been a friend and also a husband such as you. We have many years to look forward to but it's like you said,we will always be there for each other" - Ruth.

"If there is anyone that has objection to this and does not want Ruth and Joe to renew their wedding vows,then speak now or forever,hold your peace" - Father Clarence. Everyone looks around but no one makes a sound or noise. " I pronounce you husband and wife,you may kiss each other" - Father Clarence. The two kiss as the wedding music blasts through the room and everyone stands up and gives Joe and Ruth a big ovation. The two walk down the aisle as others follow them into the dining room where the good food is and the wedding cake.

Episode 14 - The Wait Is Over : The Wedding Begins Part. 1

Today is the big day,the wedding between Joe and Ruth Martin to renew their wedding vows.  At the Seasons East Casino,everybody is getting ready. In Joe's room, he gets ready as Joe's wearing a black tux, with black shoes, black pants and a black boe tie. He looks at himself in the mirror,fixing himself up. "Well Joe,this is it,the big day. Were gonna make history once again" - Joe. Then suddenly,there's a knock on the door. Joe stoeps as he gets it. He opens it and it's his brother, Paul Martin. "There's my brother renewing his vows to his lover and wife Ruth." - Paul. He and Joe hug as Joe closes the door. "So,how do you feel Joeseph heading into this?" - Paul. "I feel confident but at the same time,nervous,I got butterfiles in my stomach" - Joe. "As men always do when they get married. You know,this is a great moment for all of our family and friends in Pine Valley, I just wish our mother,Katherine"Kate" Martin was here with us,she like the rest would love to be apart of this special moment" - Paul. Joe starts to tear up,wipping it from his eye. "What's wrong Joe?Mom getting to ya?" - Paul. "Yeah,I wish she was here,but she is,in spirit and our mother would be so proud of us" - Joe. "You seem about ready Joe" - Paul. "Yep,let's go and not keep everyone waiting" - Joe. The two smile as they leave the room with Joe closing the door behind him.

In Ruth's room,Amy Parker Tyler,Ruth's sister,waits for Ruth to come on out of the bathroom. "Ruth,are you ready?" - Amy. "Yes I am Amy,here I come" - Ruth. She comes out of the bathroom and is in the same wedding dress that she appeared in 1972 when Ruth married Joe as Amy is in amazement and smiles. "My goodness Ruth!You look so gorgeous!Everyone including Joe will be in awe when they see you in the same wedding dress since the first 1972" - Amy. "Well I thought that since me and Joe are renewing our vows,me being in the same wedding dress will bring back memories" - Ruth. "You know Ruth,I wish I had the life you and Joe had when I was married to Lincon but that one didn't last that long. Phoebe just couldn't stand me and thought that my liberal politics and anti-war philosophy would ruin her son's chances of running for office" - Amy. "Now,now,Amy don't beat yourself up,we face things in our lives that challenges us,Lincon is now happy where he is with Kelley, and as for you,you're here in Pine Valley to start a new life" - Ruth. "Yes I will,I got a lot of catching up to do with Tad,Jake,Amanda and the rest of my reletives.I just wish Phillip was here to see you Ruth" - Amy. Ruth starts to tear up. "Oh Ruth,did I make you all teary eyed?" - "It's nothing Amy,I just wish my son was here to witness this with the rest of us,Kate too" - "I agree with you Ruth, the people who aren there, they're smiling down on all of us.Anyway, let's go. You have a wedding to attend " -Amy. "Let's go!" -Ruth. They leave the room as Ruth cloes the door behind her.

Down in the Colonnade Room of the Seasons East Casino,everyone is there at the wedding, all look sharp,nice & good looking.Many people such asJR,Marissa,AJ,Adam,Annie,Scott,Jack,Erica,Reggie,Bianca,Lily,Greenlee,Ryan,Emma,Brooke,to name a few,but everyone is there. The best men come down as they are Paul,Jamie,Jake,Tad,Bobby,& Jeff,Charlie standing on the side of the altar. The maids of honor.Amy,Opal,Krstal,Amanda,Tara,Maggie and Kelsey, also come down, standind on the other side.Even Derek Frye,and Pine Valley Police Department are there securing and guarding the place. Jamie see's JR,smiles and walks over to him. "JR!It's me,Jamie!" - Jamie. "Woah!How you been man!?" - JR. The two hug. "I've been good,me and my girlfriend Maggie came back to Pine Valley to start our lives again and be with my dad and our family" - Jamie. "Wait,you and Maggie.You're one lucky man Jamie Martin" - JR. "I know and how have you been A.J.?" - Jamie. "Im good uncle Jamie" - Jamie. AJ hugs Jamie. "Nice to see you Marissa". Jamie and Marissa hug too. "You too Jamie,JR tells me a lot about you" - Marissa. "Yeah,well I better get going,don't wanna be late for the wedding.He waves to JR,Marissa and AJ as Jamie gets back on the altar with the rest of the men.

Father Clarence walks down the aisle and onto the altar.He shakes Tad's hand. "Father Clarence,thanks for being here on Valentine's Day. It's also very important since you're the priest also doing this for my mother and father" - Tad. "It's a pleasure Tad and no problem. I'll do my best as you know, I always do. " - Father Clarence. Joe walks down the aisle and onto to the statge. "Pop,you look good" - Tad. "Yeah Grandpa.You're ready for this" - Jamie. "Thanks guys, im ready, I just hope Ruth is" - Joe. "Don' worry dad,I talked to mom earlier today and she's confident and looks good" - Jake. "That's good to hear.Uh...Tad,have you talked to Derek?" - Joe. "Oh that's right,hold on" - Tad. Tad gets down from the altar and goes to Derek. "Hey Derek,how are things so far?" - Tad. "Things are good Tad,I talked to my police force and they've told me that they haven't seen Cambias or even Mitch Lawrence,so were good" - Derek. "Great,thanks Derek" - Tad. "No problem" - Derek. Tad walks back up to the altar and gives the cue to begin as wedding music is heard,people begin to stand,the wedding is about to begin.
